Today, as is typical of us here at somewhereto_ , we are taking over yet other space. This time its John Lewis in Oxford Street. So what are we up to? Only an Art Exhibition!

In keeping with the great waves of patriotism and celebration that this year has brought us- with the Jubilee and the Olympics- the only thing that seemed fitting enough as a theme for the artwork was to celebrate British culture.

Curating the exhibition is 23 year old Ashleigh “Fishboy” Ward- a young artist whom we worked with to set up his incredible Pop Up Brighton art exhibition.

Ashleigh now works as a paid youth consultant and was responsible for organizing all the artists and supporting the somewhereto_ crew to put this show on.  He received over a 100 submissions by young artists eager to use the space to showcase their work, the most submissions we’ve ever had for any art show that we have put on.

Alongside exhibiting the art work, we will also be having live art produced on site in the Brasserie area of the store, during the launch taking place on the 2nd August 2012.

We’re pleased to announce that the exhibition was such a success, that John Lewis are extending it throughout the month of SEPTEMBER too! Take advantage of the extra time and head down to Oxford Street to take a look at the work of these talented young artists!
